Reflecting on the experience of the past offers wisdom for determining the future. When the quote ‘we don’t know what we’ve got until it’s gone, but we don’t know what we’ve been missing until it arrives’ is viewed in this light, it is without doubt not just a message to be considered by an individual (regretting loss and) embracing change, but a mantra to be deeply considered by the people of Earth before we step in to the future. If we fail to acknowledge the wisdom to be found in past choices that brought forth loss, then we shall never see and never know what unrevealed beauty could be found in the future of our World.
