“the temple”
hands spread in oblation,
she
raises her face,
closes her eyes
to cruel reality,
she
opens her mind,
unveils her heart
to envision
a kinder realism
where life
is as it could be
and
not as it is
with its
shams
emptiness
loneliness
hopelessness.her inner turmoils
manifested on
her beautiful face,
which is
violated by ugly tears
of her existence,
her youthful cheeks
which are
plowed by the sweat
of her hard toils.now,
she revisits in her mind
the sanctum sanctorum
in her soul,
the holy place
where
life
promised her
inner
peace
joy
hope
fulfillment
and
in that moment,
as if by the
Grace of God,
life
comes
true to its vow
in The Temple of The Inner Self.
“Sinulog Dancer SeriES”
To paint a masterpiece is not an easy task—one has to be talented to be able to pull off a realistic painting. As for the artist, he begins his process by taking photographs first; this help captures all the details and expressions. He then makes a draft of the photo and paints in on canvas with oil as displayed in the Sinulog Dancer Series.
Based in Cebu, Clint pays homage to the Sinulog Dancer of the Sinulog Festival. It is an annual cultural and religious festival held on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City and is the center of the Santo Niño celebration in the Philippines. One of the main highpoints of the commemoration is the grand street procession which lasts for 9 to 12 hours with participants coming from the different towns and cities of Cebu and across the Philippines. The Sinulog dance contingents are dressed in bright costumes dancing graciously to the rhythm of drums, trumpets and native gongs.
