My new home sweet home!

Good news, I finally found myself a rental pad. I am in the corner pad 3rd floor by the river. So love the chi, lots of wind and most of all, lots of privacy. Just moved last Saturday and this will be my third night. Had no internet for the past two days and just finally got my prepaid broadband emergency stick working. Still waiting for the internet guy but will have the set-up done in a few days. I have pretty much everything set-up except the living room area. Will leave the walls empty till I start painting again. After all this years, only now I get the urge to paint..I found some oils in the bookstore but not so many choices. However, that will do for now. Lots of space-very ideal for painting and the smell of turpentine will not affect me because of the big window space. Plus, the good side the distance from here to my family’s house is like 10-15 minute walk. No problem commuting there.

I found this place Thursday; made the deal on Friday and moved Saturday. My landlords only wanted me and nobody else. It is so meant to be. When you will it, you find it. Always true!

The sweetest type of heaven is home — nay, heaven itself is the home for whose acquisition we are to strive the most strongly. Home, in one form and another, is the great object of life. It stands at the end of every day’s labor, and beckons us to its bosom; and life would be cheerless and meaningless, did we not discern across the river that divides it from the life beyond, glimpses of the pleasant mansions prepared for us.

Law of Cause & Effect

CAUSE & EFFECT:

“If you want to comprehend the causes that existed in the past, look at the outcomes as they are manifested in the present. And if you want to apprehend what results will be expressed in the future, look at the grounds that exist in the present.”

To the extent that we love others, we will be loved. To the extent that we work for others’ happiness, we will enjoy protection and support. This is the law of cause and effect.

Buddhism holds that everything is in a constant state of instability. Thus the question is whether we accept change flaccidly and are cleared away by it or whether we take the initiative and create positive changes on our own wits.

Unassuming virtue brings conspicuous reward. From the point of view of Buddhism, we never fail to receive the effect of our actions, whether good or bad; therefore, it’s meaningless to be insincere or to make-believe to be something we’re not.

Every family has its own set of issues and problems that only its members can fully understand. One thing I can say, however, is that, no matter what kind of people your parents are, they are your parents. If you did not have those parents, you would not be alive. It is important we understand & respect this despite their short comings and misgivings. Believe me…

Present effects are due to karmic causes from the past. However, future effects arise from the causes we make in the present. It is always the present that is important. It is what we do in the present that chooses our future; our past causes do not govern our future as well. Buddhism points that no matter what kind of karmic causes we have made in the past, through the causes we make in the present we can achieve a happier & bright future.

I rejected my chaotic past and the cause of that were cosmic & karmic catastrophe’s.  The only way to make way for my future is to accept the past and to make the present changes I need in order to move forward for my own and my family’s betterment.

Love your parents; love your family and mostly, treat people right despite their standing in life as whatever we choose to do in our life has tremendous karmic effect on our present lives and the future as well.

Family Reunion

Bichara Reunion

A Family Reunion is a time to reminisce the past, a time for fun, a time to rejoice, and a time to share old and new stories and lastly, make reconnections.

It is a time to get together in the faces all around us and find images of ourselves in hearts both new and old. A family reunion takes place on a specified day each year for the purpose of keeping an extended family closer together that strengthens the bond for family and reminds us of the gift of belonging. This is a chance to share our history. Also, it is a reason to celebrate our past and time to welcome our future as a family.

“One united family!”

Belated Happy Fathers Day!

Dearest Papa,

Happy Belated Fathers Day Papa!

I thought I should tell you some things that other people know but I may not have ever told you when you were still alive. First of all you are my hero. You have always been my hero since I was a little girl. Secondly, I am very grateful for all the blessings you have given me over the years, and the heavenly guidance you and Mama provided to all of us. I know you are in heaven with Mama but sometimes, I still feel your presence. You never stopped being a dad and because of your kindness to people when you were alive, the blessings from up above was showered all over us – your children.  You only hired disabled people. Workers that did not have a chance to work but you gave them a chance.  You and Mama opened your doors to our relatives and helped those in need. I will never forget that. You taught me to be humble and you taught me to treat everybody the same. We never run out of blessings despite our differences and beliefs.

Thanks to you and Mama, we are still okay. I know one day all will be fine, we will get that house we dreamed for.

Your youngest daughter, Jenny

Stonehouse Gardens Resort Part II

STONEHOUSE GARDENS RESORT

Commadre Gardens

As you know, I love this place so much…That day,  I was like in heaven..Total happiness.

Nature is what I crave for..Not really a city and mall person, I much prefer to be close to nature than among-st sea of people .  So this place helped me decide where to live, I decided today to move to Bicol instead of Manila.

The provincial rate is a lot lower than Manila.  However, with my ingenuity and creativity,  I will find a way to triple or quadruple my earnings. I find that I am more creative and energetic when surrounded by nature.

Plus, my second blog will help promote an organic Bicol based product.  And by living here,  I will be able to help and promote Bicol Tourism too by showing all my wonderful adventures.

So the order from my landlord was really a blessing…This could be my calling.

                                    *************************************

I would like to extend my gratitude to the owners for their hospitality during my visit. I never forget people who treat me with kindness.

Life is beautiful!

Life is indeed beautiful!

I am thankful for what God has given me. Despite hardships, this life of mine seems so blessed, rich and full that I never ever ever will forget God. Even if doors close, life always gives way to new adventures and opportunities. I have to spend more time in being grateful for all what God has given me. I thank my maker for all the beauty and blessings he surround me because life is really special. It is the best attitude one can ever have for one needs to be aware of how blessed their life is. Life has its unexpected twist and turns but we all must cherish the beautiful memories of our showered blessings.

My trek down Malabsay Falls, Mt Isarog National Park

This is part two of my trek to Malabsay Falls.

Malabsay Falls, approximately 40 ft. high scenic wonder is located on the slope of Mt. Isarog in Barangay Panicuason, Naga City.

Going down to where the falls was definitely more challenging that I taught it was. We had to walk on narrow and steep pathway.  I was thinking of going by myself but thanked God, I decided to take the 4 gang of boys with me. Seeing the falls after the long walk was a truly a rewarding feeling. I was planning to go swimming with my bathing suit but chose not to. I dived immediatly to the falls even with clothes on. Who needs to be all glam up anyway?

To have a clear picture of the magical place, here are some of the shots that I took of the place from the step of the rain forest down to the falls:

Enjoy and click away!

Kambing (Goat)

Love the pic with the goat (Kambing) looking at me. We were heading down from Malabsay Falls when we saw a herd of goats (Kambing in Filipino).  I got really excited because this is the first time I saw wild farm animals in Mt Isarog besides a Carabao. This is not Africa so to see something like this in the Philippines is truly magical. Well, at least for me.

Hiking up to Mt Isarog Malabsay Falls

My trek to Malabsay Falls

Mount Isarog National Park harbors rainforest, endemic wildlife, waterfalls and is also home to nomadic Negrito (Agta) tribes people. I will write about my encounter with an Agta Tribe later on.

Mt. Isarog, an inactive volcano, rises in the heart of the province of Camarines Sur, the central part of the Bicol Peninsula. It is the highest forested peak in Southern Luzon. The Philippine government declared it as a national park since 1938 to preserve the pristine rainforest in the area for the enjoyment of local and international tourists.

I took my brother, my nephew and two other guides with me.  The weather was cloudy and it rained while we were in the falls.  The trip also took back memories of my childhood. Our parents would take all of us to visit this majestic mountain from time to time.  According to my father, during the Japanese occupation, the soldiers would trek this mountain to go to the falls to shower.

I only paid P50 for the entrance fee for the five us.  (Only a little over a dollar) How cheap is that!

Defend Yourself from a Bully

Inspired by a true event from a Text Message Attack:

The only way to keep your mind from going crazy is to know how to defend your pride from bullies. When you know you are right; then, it is okay to stand and fight to the black knight. Never surrender and show no fear whatsoever. Always appear serene even if you are pissed. Always look angry and mean but always be calm and collected inside. Plan you’re taught of action while expecting the unexpected. Disarm yourself when time calls for you to neutralize.

Like a dance number, see an opening and exit when it is time to bow from the crowd. Don’t let captivating blow come to pass and always, act fast and reserve because you know your right.

Next time that dark knight will think a million times before he/or she will come your way!
