Beauty in the eyes of the artist…

I define beauty as rather a measure of affect. It is a measure of emotion. In art, beauty is the device of successful communication between participants. The transmission of a concept between the artist and the perceives; beautiful art is successful in portraying the artist’s most profound intended emotions. But neither the artist nor the observer can be certain of successful communication in the end. So beauty in art is eternally subjective. What might be beautiful to me, might not be to other. As the saying goes, the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
